On November 23rd, 2008 around 2300hrs E49 was dispatched on a Still Alarm to investigate smoke in the area of Wyoming and Maplelawn. While enroute Detroit Fire Communications Central Office advised E49 that they were receiving multiple tickets on their run and that they were dispatching the box. E49 arrived to find an occupied 1.5 story dwelling with heavy smoke conditions in the attic. The fire spread quickly and vented itself through the roof prior to the arrival of the rest of the Box. Fire crews quickly moved into defensive operations, and L21 water tower was put into operation. E34/42/49 L21 S5 and C5 worked for over an hour to bring this fire under control.
