On April 22, 2009 around 1150 hours, companies from the 8th Battalion responded to the report of a dwelling fire in the area of McDougall and Lawley. E35 reported smoke showing and they were stretching, while enroute C5 requested Central Office dispatch a 4th Engine for RIT. E40 was dispatched as the RIT Engine. Crew made an aggressive interior attack but were unable access the upper floor due the structural instability. L30’s aerial was put into operation and crews set up for water tower operations. A 1 ¾” hose line was stretched up the tower and crews were able to knock down the fire with that hose line. Crews worked for over an hour to bring this fire under control. E23/35/40(RIT)/44 L30 S3 C5 worked at this box.
